blackSTORY films is a production company dedicated to celebrating the authentic souls of Black folk through dynamic storytelling. That is our WEB DuBois way of explaining things. The simpler explanation of our agenda is that we seek to develop vivid and intriguing women-led dramedies, free of cliché and full of verve.

Founded in 2013 by Rahwa Asmerom,  blackSTORY has produced a short film dramedy "Didn't I Ask For Tea?",  the webseries "Conversating While Black" (Blavity), and is currently in pre-production on the feature film "Maya v. Settling', the series "Say It Louder," and the feature film satire "The Summer is Mine."
